MEET ROBYN POST
Welcome to 4th grade, eager learners! We are going to have so much fun together this year in our cozy home-away-from-home, otherwise known as Room 54.
What does our classroom LOOK like? A warm and inviting place where you will want to snuggle up with a good book and read.
What does our classroom FEEL like? A safe place where we all enjoy discovering together, improving our writing, reading memorable books, and investigating the great state of Texas. Together we’ll be working hard, using kindness, spreading love, showing mutual respect, and laughing a whole, whole lot!
What does our classroom SOUND like? Nature, busy children, soothing music, happy tunes, conversations, belly laughs.
I truly cannot wait to go on this magical journey with you!
Many of you may recognize me as a substitute teacher, because I used to be a substitute at Cedar Creek, Forest Trail, and Valley View. Last year I taught 4th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Valley View, and I'm so excited to become a CCE Eagle this year! I’ve also worked at three universities and one high school, where I helped students with their college applications and essays. All in all, I’ve mentored and taught students in educational settings for more than 17 years and now enjoy fulfilling my dream of being an elementary school teacher.
I love to find heart shapes in nature, read children’s literature, write haiku, cinquain and free-verse poetry, take nature photographs, cook foods from all over the world, travel to new places, hike in the woods, kayak and standup paddleboard on Ladybird Lake, snow ski in the Rocky Mountains, and dig in the dirt in our garden that’s filled with native Texas plants. Rumor has it that I can sing and perform in plays, too.
My husband and I have two boys, Dylan who is in 6th grade, and Charlie who is in 4th grade. We also have two rescue cats (Oolong and Ayse), a mouse named Fuffy (not Fluffy) who was born on Christmas day, and tank full of fish (the Chinese algae eater and loach are my favorites). In an ideal world, I’d also have two dogs, a horse, some goats, some chickens, one cow, and a chameleon. Maybe one day…
Now, what about YOU? I can’t wait to hear all about you!
My Family & Hearts in Nature!
